Tanabata 2024
The Japanese summer folk festival tanabata, emblazoned with legend of two heavenly lovers, will take place on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Dolní Počernice castle park.
Join us for the fifth edition of our festival, featuring a vibrant stage program, numerous vendor stalls offering essentials and Japanese cuisine, and a dedicated workshop area. You can find the press release here (CZ).

Tanzaku: write a calligraphy of your wishes on colorful strips of paper
Tanzaku Decorations: create beautiful ornaments to adorn bamboos
Teru Teru Bozu: make a traditional doll to ensure good weather
Mizuhiki Knots: craft a “nanohana” pendant using paper cords
Kimono Workshop: get dressed in a yukata
Nanahana: “Tanabata from Matsumoto”: create a starry couple from origami paper
Ha-na-mi: paint on fabric products or mugs
Kendama: play the traditional Japanese game
Haiku Writing Workshop: explore the art of writing haiku poetry
