Individual Japanese lessons

Individual Japanese lessons are a flexible option for students who prefer a personalised approach, cannot attend our regular group courses, or would like to focus on a specific area of Japanese.
The content, pace and focus of the lessons can be adapted to your current level, goals and individual needs.
Lessons Tailored to Your Needs
Individual lessons can follow a regular Japanese language curriculum or focus on a specific area according to your needs.
For example:
- regular long-term Japanese language study,
- revision or additional practice,
- preparation for the JLPT (Japanese-Language Proficiency Test),
- conversation and practical Japanese,
- Japanese for travel,
- or another specific area agreed with the instructor.
How are the Lessons Organised?
Individual lessons may be available in person at the Czech-Japanese Association in Prague or online, depending on the instructor’s availability.
The schedule, frequency and length of the lessons are arranged individually. Please note that availability for in-person lessons may be more limited in the afternoons and evenings, when our classrooms are primarily used for regular group courses.
Lessons in English
Most of our regular Japanese courses are taught in Czech. Individual lessons are therefore also a good option for students who would like to study Japanese in English.
English-language tuition depends on the availability of a suitable instructor. Please mention your preferred language of instruction when contacting us.

Please contact us at info@japan.cz. To help us find a suitable instructor and arrange the lessons, please include:
- whether you prefer online or in-person lessons,
- your current level of Japanese and previous learning experience,
- whether the lessons may be taught in English,
- your preferred lesson length,
- the days and times that usually work for you,
- any specific goals or areas you would like to focus on,
- and your telephone number.
Based on this information, we will check the current availability of our instructors and try to find a suitable option for you.
Cancellation of Individual Lessons
If you are unable to attend an agreed lesson, please inform your teacher directly at least 24 hours in advance. Lessons cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, as well as missed lessons without prior notice, are charged in full.
