NEW: Saturday sumie course

Starting in October, we have a hot new option for you – SATURDAY SUMIE COURSE!

The course is designed for those of you who can’t fit regular weekly lessons into their schedule, but still want to indulge in a creative moment in the Japanese style once in a while.

Sumie translates to “ink painting”. While in calligraphy, you write by ink kanji characters, in a sumie lessons you will learn how to paint flowers, birds, trees, etc. with ink using traditional techniques. This can be the time for yourself, time to have a nice break from the hustle and bustle of modern times. Just you and a brush…

9 lessons of 90 minutes each await you under the guidance of experienced instructor Kaoru Ishida.

For the entire course:

ČJS member: 5070 CZK

For individual lesson in this course (depending on capacity, to be ordered at least a week in advance):
regular price: 665 CZK
ČJS member: 585 CZK

Time: selected Saturdays, always 10:00 – 11:30
Planned lesson dates: 11.10. 8.11. 20.12. 17.1. 14.2. 14.3. 9.5. 23.5. 13.6.
Christmas holidays: 22. 12. 2025 – 3. 1. 2026. There are no lessons planned in April.

For serious reasons (e.g. illness of the instructor) the lesson may be postponed, in which case we will inform you about the replacement date as soon as possible.

The condition for opening a regular course is a minimum number of 5 students.
